Directions and Commentary

Throw everything in the blender and blend until smooth!

This is one of my all time favorites. It tastes so good it is like drinking a dessert, plus you get some protein in your diet. That’s why I think it makes a perfect post workout shake. It feels like a great reward after an intense session in the gym. Heck, even just looking forward to this shake could provide you with enough motivation to get up off the couch and head to the gym.

Alternatively, you can make this shake in the morning, and let it power you with enough energy to get a jump start on the day. Or at least give you a reason to get out of bed.

One thing that I like about this recipe is that I think it still tastes pretty good even if you use a banana that isn’t ripe.

Even if you use a green banana, I think it still tastes great.

Sometimes when you go to the grocery store, all they have are green bananas. Well, go ahead and buy a bunch of them because you can use them right away in a smoothie. And the ones you don’t use in smoothies will last longer around your kitchen.

Mix it Up

Mix up the proportions of the ingredients. You can put in two scoops of protein powder for more flavor and more protein. Adjust the amount of peanut butter up or down to your liking. Add more or less ice to affect the overall texture.

One easy way to change things up for this smoothie is to use a different brand of protein. Different protein powders taste different, and some companies even offer a variety of different types of chocolate, such as: double chocolate, chocolate cake, or milk chocolate.
